On the property there are a variety of tropical plants some of these are, sugar apple trees, coconut trees, hibiscus, crotons, mango trees, yucca palms,  bougainvillea, oleander and Golden palm trees

After a particularly heavy rainy season the plants are blooming out of control, this is a job for my super gardener.

Barbados has two seasons the wet and the dry season.

The rainy season on Barbados is between June and October more or less,  and there is just the right amount of rain  to keep things green and lush.

During the dry season it gets very dry with only the odd shower lasting for minutes before the sun is out again.

Back

Barbados boasts approximately 3000 hours of sunshine per year.

Having red, white, orange, pink, and purple bougainvillea all bloom at once can be a spectacular sight, but a lot of work.

The images below show a partial view of the rear of the property which is fully enclosed.

At the present time there are many Barbados Monkeys in the trees around the house.

Early in the morning is the best time to watch the monkeys feed.

If there are"dunks"a type of wild fruit about the size of an American cherry on the trees it can be quite amusing watching them gather and eat the fruit.

For the plant lovers a tour of  Flower Forest  and  Orchid World  is a must see, a truly
enjoyable way to spend a day seeing the beautiful plant life of Barbados.

Located about twelve miles northeast of the City of Bridgetown.

The Flower Forest is composed of about fifty acres of tropical flora and meandering paths on a former sugar estate where you can learn the name of virtually every plant on Barbados.

The garden has sweeping views of Chalky Mount and the Atlantic Ocean.

Also not to be missed is another very nice place for the plant lovers,  Andromeda Gardens  located in Bathsheba, St. Joseph, it's on a cliff and overlooks the beautiful but very rough  East coast
