Gibbs beach on the West coast of Barbados is still relatively tourist free in comparison to some of the other beaches such as Mullins beach Heywoods beach, Paradise beach or Accra beach to name a few.
Gibbs beach, only a short stroll from the house is one of the nicest of the nearly 80 miles of public beaches in Barbados.
The sand of the beautiful beaches of Barbados ranges in color from pink to white. All beaches are open to the public and access is enforced by the government.
Mark my son getting ready to do some water-skiing on a beautiful flat Caribbean Sea.
The Caribbean sea is generally quite calm on the West Coast.
This makes for great swimming and any other water sport such as scuba diving, water-skiing, sail boating, windsurfing, under water fishing, etc.

With so many shallow reefs on the West Coast diving is especially good, if you don't know how, there are many places that will teach you and also rent equipment. For those wishing to experience the natural wonders of the island, there's scuba diving on numerous reefs, complete with shipwrecks.
The Folkestone Marine Park & Museum in Holetown, St. James is a good swimming spot, where vendors rent, snorkeling , scuba diving, and other water sports equipment.
An underwater trail ideal for snorkelers follows a reef near Folkestone Park.
You will also find a small museum and gift shop here.

The West Coast, North of Bridgetown, is in effect one long beach. Highway 1 runs along the coast from Bridgetown to North of Speightstown.
Stop at Paynes Bay where you can slip into Bombas beach bar for drinks and lunch.
Mullins Bay also has a beach bar. Brighton, Gibbs Beach, and Heywoods are all good for swimming.
The West coast is the place to be for gorgeous sunsets, the deck at Mullins beach bar is great for having a drink and watching the sun go down.
Mark just finished his ride, I think he has a lot more fun when David his older brother goes out with him.
Mullins Beach is a very popular beach with moderately calm waters it is easily accessed and parking is available right across the road.

It makes a nice picnic spot during the day and is definitely worth a visit.
You can dive and snorkel without getting wet in a semi-submersible Seatrec cruise.
Through observation windows 6 feet underwater, passengers can view tropical reefs.
Board the Atlantis Submarine and get set for 50 minutes of an ultimately fascinating experience, an exciting journey through the natural undersea world of Barbados.
An Atlantic submarine takes passengers down to 150 feet below sea level for even closer views of reefs and shipwrecks
Visit my friend Rob's web site Gibbs Palms someone I have known for quite a few years, it's just a five minute walk away from my place on the way to the beach, check out their site.
