Speightstown Barbados

Speightstown, in the parish of St. Peter, is the second largest town on the island, it is a major shopping destination for locals and tourists alike and it also has the bus terminal for the North of the Island.

Speightstown was the first major port and commercial centre of Barbados. But it  had fallen into disrepair and had been neglected over the years. With the advent of tourism the town is being revitalized.
In recent years it has been revived and is now the home of a brand new luxury marina to the North of the town.

Some fine examples of original Barbados architecture still exist and restoration of others is taking place.
